Passage was Jason Rohrer's third publicly released game, but the first to really give him public recognition. It was also a catalyst for bringing to the forefront discussions about seeing games as art. It has also served as an inspiration for many indie developers to try and create more pensive games.
Gameplay[]
A 5 minute long game that can be played in a variety of ways, but with the outstanding characteristic that, as the player moves slowly across the game world, the player's decisions about how they progress alter both the characters and the canvas in subtle ways, to reflect the passage of life.
Trivia[]
It was an entry into the second Gamma competition, where the theme mandated the developers to use a canvas of up to only 256 pixels.
