Gameplay[]
You play as a small robot named Josef, who seeks to save his girlfriend from the evil Black Cap Brotherhood robots. The game itself is a standard point-and-click adventure game, with puzzles and minigames scattered across the landscape.
Point and click adventures usually being quite hard, this game offers a solution in the form of a cheatbook. When selecting this item in the upper right corner, a mini-game starts, which after completion gives you the full solution to all the room's puzzles. This avoids players having to go elsewhere to scavenge for walkthroughs. The game also has a hint per room, which are sometimes helpful, sometimes a little less.
Trivia[]
- Machinarium won the 2009 IGF Excellence in Visual Design award.
