His nickname is "Yak" because he has an obvious fondness for two-toed animals like llamas and sheep.
Minter and his animals
- Llamasoft was created in 1982, and Minter has been making independent games since that time, continuously and largely alone, which may be the longest career of any indie developer (his only competitor in this regard is Chris Crawford, who started making games earlier, but has since stopped making games in favor of creating interactive storytelling technology; also like Crawford, he owns a farm full of farm animals).
